William JELLEY is described as a Cordwainer on James's Birth certificate.
I am not able to view any of the Census info for this period, so if there is
someone out there who is willing to check the 1861 Census I would be very
grateful.
On my Gparents Marriage Cert. there is a witness named Samuel JELLEY
who I would dearly like to place in the branches somewhere.

Hi, Tony, I've found your family on the 1861 census, CaolbrookVale,
William Jelly, Head of Family, 45, born inSomerset
Louisa ", Wife, 35 "
Wm. ", son, 10, Scholar, Monmouthshire, Nantyglo
James ", son, 5, Scholar, " "
Benjamin ", 5 months, " "
I also found a reference to a Ronald Jelley in a booklet,"The Rose & Thorn:
Laughter & Tears of People in Blaina", pub. 1995 by the Blaina Heritage Action
Group. I just bought this book for 5 pounds at the Blaina Heritage Council
Offices, High St., Blaina, Gwent, if anyone is interested they could write to
them.
Anyway, Ronald has an article in there about the Blaina Brass Band. Tony,
maybe you could write to the Council and maybe they could get you in touch
with him. It seems like he must be related somewhere, I don't think the name
is that common.
