I have an Interest in a GUY Family who lived in Blaina
My main interest concerns my grandmother Mary Ann GUY (nee Clements) who I
know resided at 20 Mount Pleasant, Blaina and two of her Children who got
married at Llwynypia Church. I believe Mary
Ann moved to Wales from Bristol. The name GODFREY is also connected with the
GUYS/CLEMMENTS

1. Marriage of William James GUY, Soldier (19) bachelor of Wye Villas, Enid
Street, Trelaw, and Dorothy MORGAN(S) (18) spinster of 11 Majorie Road,
Trelaw at Llwynypia Parish Church, Glamorgan on Dec 15th 1914. Married by
Banns. Williams was stated to be William James Guy (Decd), Engineer.
Dorothy's father was described as James Morgan(s), Collier. Married by
licence according to the rites and ceremonies of the established church.
Both signed marriage cert. with full names. Witnesses were James Morgans and
Reginald Charles Parsons.
2. Marriage of Henry Victor GUY, Miner (22) bachelor and Emily Robina DUFFY
(21) spinster at Llwynypia Parish Church, Glamorgan on 03/04/1920. Both
living at 227 Cemetery Road. Married by Banns. Henry Victors father was
stated to be William James Guy Decd), Storeman. Emily Robina's father was
described as Tailor. Married following Banns according to the rites and
ceremonies of the established church. Both signed marriage cert with full
names.
