My great-aunt Lena PARKER (nee PAYNE), lived in Aberbargoed during the
first
half of the century. Her full name was Helena Beatrice PAYNE and she was born
on 26th. June 1886 in Pencelly (Treorchy) in the parish of Ystradyfodwg,
Glamorgan. Her parents were Sydney PAYNE and Charlotte Ann PAYNE (nee BAKER).
In the 1950s/60s her son Teddy PARKER lived at 44 Hill View, Penllwyn,
Pontllanfraith while his brother whose name began with an A. lived in Cumbria.
This brother may have been Arthur Stanley PARKER whose wife was Eira.
Josephine - I can offer a long-shot. I have the GRO death indexes 1984 -
1997 in a searchable database and the only Edward PARKER death recorded
in the Blaenau Gwent registration district in this timescale was:
Edward Sidney PARKER date of birth 5 Apr 1911
Death recorded in Blaenau Gwent Nov 84.
If his mother was born in 1886 then presumably Edward would have been born
around about this time?
If this checks out you can get a copy of the death certificate (from
Tredegar) which may enable you to trace other family members i.e. the
informant.
