Dear Listers
As I'm taking several of my grandchildren away on holiday for a few days, I
will be tearing myself away from this infernal machine to get some R&R (of
a kind!!). I will still be able to receive email but won't be able to
answer until next weekend.
Have just spent a couple of hours at the beach watching the sun go down for
the last time this century to the sound of Handel's "Messiah" and then a
Scottish piper as the last of the light faded. Hundreds of families
enjoying barbecues, bands and other entertainments which will go on all
night until the dawn of the new century. (Which we will watch from our
verandah as it rises over the mountain behind us). Will lift my glass to
you all and wish you a happy and peaceful New Year and hope that we will
all find those elusive ancestors.
Thank you for all your help in '99 and here's to 2000!
