Hi! I am a Webb descendant. My great grandmother was Dinah Webb. She had a
sister named Fanny Webb as well as others. They immigrated to Scranton with
their husbands and children in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There are
Webb relatives still in the Blaina area. I have received a good deal of
information from Simon Furber, who I found to be a cousin of mine, but I
haven't had time to get back into all of this since both of my children
decided to marry all at the same time and I am a little overwhelmed at the
moment. If these names sound familiar, let me know.
Melissa

Just connected with this list. I tried the web site five times in the
last
three days, connected twice, unable three times. It is a great site.
I am researching WEBB, MORGAN, HARRIS, and PRICE in Newport and Blaenavon,
Monmouthshire areas. Of course I need lots of help.
Did spend a day and half in Newport and Blaenavon in 1994. One can not
learn much in such a short time. Did get to see the area where my
grandmother was born in 1879. Number 10 Hill, Blaenavon. The small house
is gone and the lot was a garden. The row of small houses gave me an idea
how the area was then. The people were great. The WEBBs were coal and iron
miners.
Oh yes, Did join the Gwent Family History Society in 1994 when I was
working
in Germany. Member 2141. Had hope of returning to Wales for
research, job
and lack of sufficient funds prevented me from doing so. Let me know what
I
need to do to rejoin.
Love to hear from everybody.
Thanks,
