What about Monmouthshire? This is also one of the Unitary authorities
that replaced Gwent, and includes Monmouth and Chepstow!

The places you mention have never been in Glamorgan. They were all in
Monmouthshire until 1974, when it became Gwent. Gwent was split up into
five unity authorities in 1996. Tredegar, Cwm, and Ebbw Vale - along
with
Abertillery, Nantyglo and Blaina - are now in the county borough of
Blaenau
Gwent, the same name as this list!
You may like to know that the other unity authorities that replaced
Gwent
are :
CAERPHILLY/CAERFFILI * Comprising Caerphilly and the Rhymney valley,
(which
used to be over the border in Glamorgan ) combined with the former Gwent
borough of Islwyn, i.e the Blackwood, Oakdale, Pontllanfraith, Abercarn
and
Risca areas.
TORFAEN * The Pontypool area, including Blaenafon and Cwmbran.
The County Borough of NEWPORT. (Now a city!)
