Dear Marianne,
An extra name, Gwyn and Sylvia's parents. Arthur and Lily May Williams. They
had 11 children, of whom 9 survived into adulthood. My father was the second
eldest, known locally as Sam. My dad and Uncle Ginner (the eldest) were also
known locally for their prowess in football, especially when on opposite
sides.
My grandmother's father and brother, Jesse and Harry Cockayne, also came up.
For people who are interested a photo of some of the miners is on
www.cwmtillery.com
The webmaster, Les, would be grateful if names could be put to the men. The
picture of the little boy, at the front, is my dad's cousin, Ray Parson. The
man at the side with scarf is his father, though we cannot remember his
christian name. Ray's mother married again, a man called Davies, though
Idris and his brother grew up and still live down Wales.
Tricia.
