What about Monmouthshire? This is also one of the Unitary

Whoops, quite right Andrew, Monmouthshire somehow got lost in the Christmas
rush!
It also includes Abergavenny, Caldicot and Usk, of course.
The new authorities are correctly listed in my "Short History of
Monmouthshire" at :
http://www.oakdalevillage.net/history3.html
Incidentally, those who didn't like the name Gwent may be surprised to
learn that the area was called Gwent long before it became Monmouthshire.
A quick reminder to those researching ancestors within 5 miles of Oakdale,
(i.e roughly : Aberbeeg, Abercarn, Argoed, Bargoed, Bedwellty, Blackwood,
Cefn Fforest, Crumlin, Fleur de Lys, Hengoed, Kendon, Llanilleth,
Pontllanfraith, Manmoel, Markham, Maesycwmmer, Mynyddislwyn, Newbridge,
Treowen, Trinant, Pengam, Ynysddu, or Ystrad Mynach areas,) that they can
post a message on the genealogy page of the above site.
Cheers & Seasonal Greetings,
Glyn Hale
