Your reply caught my interest immediately. My grandfather, Francis Wm. John Mason, born in
Abertillery, left there and settled in Kirkby, which is where my mother was born in 1925.
Within a few years, he left there for Moorends nr. Doncaster in Yorkshire, lured by the
new pit and community there.
Do you have articles or general information about this migration from Abertillery to
Kirkby, or the people who left Abertillery? I have precious little.
