Hello,
If the families you are looking for are not amongst those on the Monumental Inscriptions
fiche/CD, because they are buried in a Local Authority Cemetery. There is a chance that
you can get a copy of the entry in the burial book, (gives you grave number, row, and
section,) kept at;
Finance Department
Municipal Offices
Ebbw Vale
Gwent
NP23 6XB
Tele 'direct dial' 01495 355204
(PLEASE DONT TELL THEM I TOLD YOU)
The records began for;
Abertillery in 1908, Blaina 1885,
Brynmawr 1854, Cefn Golau 1875, Dukestown 1879, Ebbw Vale 1873, and Cwm 1912.
They ask for queries in writing, also the following information.
The cemetery your late relatives are buried at, date of death, age at death, last place of
residence. (Dont want much do they?).
A grave is only leased for 100 year's, after that time the authority has the right to
grass the ancient site's/area over. If that happens, they may not have all the
information you want.
Hope this is of some help to someone.
Angela
