Does anyone on this list remember a Donna Fraser that had an e-mail
address defraser@island .net
She had posted a message using that address (it no longer works) on 7th
Sept 1999 to this site and I would love to make contact with her as I think
she might be related.
I wrote the following letter to her which returned to me.

Subject: Kettlewell/Evans
Dear Donna,
Hello my name is Vicky Harding New Zealand .I had written to you before
about my Evans connection but I have found your name again under
Kettlewell . This is an amazing coincidence as my relations were also
an EVANS KETTLEWELL mixture.
Now I know that my relation Francis John Evans the Blaina
Policeman had a mother whose name could be " Ann" who had the maiden
name KETTLEWELL and her husband was of course EVANS I am having
terrible trouble trying to find his first name.
The story goes that she was from a well to do Family and her husband to be
was working for her Father as a Groomsman He eloped with her to Ebbw
vale Area of Wales ( maybe even Ross on Wye not sure..)
My Aunty Mary Hyde Nee Evans has a note that says To Ann
Kettlewell of Goosetree Vicarage. At present that is all I know.
One of MIss. Kettlewell's children named Francis John Evans ended up
being the Blaina Policeman. My grandfather Francis James Evans was born
on 11 Jan 1896 actually in the Blaina Police station. Ann apparently had
several Children maybe your line is one of them. It is too much of a
coincidence for these two names to be linked together especially since
in 1881 Census of Wales there is only one Kettlewell Family showing up in
Wales. This family could have been Ann's family, but in 1881 she does not
show up in the Census living with this family. Ann's Father could have
been a Vicar at Goosetree Vicarage but in 1881 it appears that he could
have been dead.
I really do hope this rings some bells. I would love to hear from you any-
way
Regards Vicky Harding nee Evans born 7 Aug 1954 Abergavenny Wales now
