Hi
There are about a dozen Newports in UK. As you name Blaenavon from where you
can see Newport (Mon as it was)
it seems most likely to be the one you seek.
You also have the "complication" of Newprt (Mon) being in Monmouthshire
which was often recorded by English officials and clergy , as being in
England which strictly speaking, it never was.
Hope this helps

Subject: [BlaenauGwent] PRICE AND WILLIAMS
New information received on my Price ancestors from BlaenAvon.
William
Price was married to Jane Williams (1801-1888). Children were:
Mary, Ann, Owen, Edward, Sarah, John and Jane Price. All but one of
these children came to Allegany County, Maryland in 1854, leaving from
Newport.
Question #1 - Is there a Newport England they might have left from. And
old newspaper article from here in Maryland says that.
One of the girls married a fellow who went to live in Australia.
William must have died shortly after arriving in this country as I find
no mention of him in any of the records recently unearthed.
This was a coal mining family who lived in the Georges Creek area of
western Maryland.
