Hi Paul (& List)
It's not my own family (unless we connect further back) but it is
definitely the other researchers. Unfortunately my email to her has
bounced so I shall have to snail mail her.
I don't have a copy of her full tree, so I've quickly put together what I
think the basic PARRY side is and will send it directly, rather than
clutter the list. I'd appreciate it if you could point out any errors, or
if there are any additions you know of - I'm sure there will be more to add
eventually, but I didn't really want to start matching up families myself
until I have typed up all of the information I've collected so far - with
such common names, it would be too easy to get it wrong when I'm having to
base it on just census and MI type information.
Just to let people know -I already have PARRY details from the BRE 1851 &
1861, GLA 1851, MON 1861 plus some 1851 & 1871 indexes, HEF 1851 & 1891
indexes and the 1881 & 1901 index for all counties, as well as IGI, Vital
records, and Llanelly MIs and burial index. I'm working on collecting full
details for those places that I currently only have indexes for.
All of those I'll be using to put together the PARRY trees for my web-site,
but obviously any further details anyone has, particularly from
certificates which would confirm links or give me mother's maiden names,
would be of great help.
With regard to my own family - my earliest PARRY is a Thomas PARRY b abt
1788 somewhere outside of Herefordshire. Unfortunately he died in January
1851, just months before the census which would have told me where outside!
(That's why I'm collecting all of the PARRY entries in the area.)
It was his son Thomas who married Hannah HUGHES in Llanelly. They had
children, Thomas in Llanwenarth (b 1838, d 1918), John in Llyndu (b1840, d
1857), George in Abergavenny (b 1845), James in Upper Govilon (b 1848), &
Elizabeth in Clodock, HEF (b 1851, d 1853). The son Thomas married Sarah
JONES in Capel-y-ffin in 1863 and had children Thomas in Glynfach (b 1864,
d in the Boer War), John in Glynfach (b 1865, d 1918 = my 2xgreat
grandfather), Elizabeth in Llanellen (b1867) & Lewis in Pwlldu (b 1869, d
1870). Sarah died of meningitis four days after Lewis was born and Thomas,
who was in Llanellen in1871, moved to Herefordshire for some years, but
died at the home of his step daughter, Margaret FRANCIS, of Plum Tree
Cottage, Graigamy, Clydach in 1918.
So I'd love to hear from anyone with information on the above, as well as
any other PARRY details people might have.
Best wishes,
Barbara Griffiths
