Hello Gwyneth,
Why do you think Gilwern was the place they were at in 1851. Llanelli
Breconshire could have been a lot nearer to Brynmawr or Ebbw Vale, for
example. Was Maria shown as Mary and was it Hall street near to Victoria
in Ebbw Vale ?
Noticed some Jones families living with Powells in Brecon area on 1881
census . I know there were a great deal of Powell families up in Brecon
area. My Jones family were from Crickadarn, near Erwood and the name
Powell was almost as common as Jones.
Best wishes
Barrie Jones.
Hi listers,
Does anybody else have these Jones in Llanelli Breck - probably Gilwern - in
1851.
John aged 38 a blocklayer, his wife Rebecca aged 30, his father and mother in
law John and RachelJones.
Children: Maria 10, Emma 9, James 7, John 4, Eliza 2. In 1881 Maria was living
in Ebbw Vale with her husband Benjamin Powell
