Hi
Appreciated the link to the Blaina photos, thank you.
Can anyone please tell me where the Old Blaina Chapel was in 1875? I
have marriage certificate for John Jenkins and Ellen Taylor who were
married by certificate there. I believe Ellen was a Baptist whilst John
was a Methodist.
Is it worth investigating the fact that they were married by
certificate? As in would there be a record of it?
Any help would be appreciated

Ystalyfera (GLA)
Dear Listers,
This week's 'Retrospective Images of Wales' webpages, just uploaded onto
my
website, feature the following subjects:
1. The former coal-mining village of Blaina in the county of
Monmouthshire
(five pictures). This feature was first shown on my website in February
1999.
2. A disused three-arch canal aqueduct over the River Twrch at
Ystalyfera in
the county of Glamorgan (one picture).
This feature was one of the very first 'Images of Wales', shown on my
website in December 1997.
As usual, these webpages will be on display until next Saturday.
'Retrospective Images of Wales' is at its new location
