Les,
I'm afraid I can't help with the family but for your information Llandaf
Cathedral, as the crow flies, is about 1.75 miles north west of the castle
which is in the centre of Cardiff. Before Cardiff officially became a
city
in 1905, by virtue of its cathedral, Llandaf was already a city,
just
outside the town of Cardiff. In reality, it has never been more than a
village, in terms of size. Nowadays, it is a district incorporated well
within the City of Cardiff. According to "Cardiff: A History of the City"
by William Rees, Llandaf became part of Cardiff in 1922. For your
information, just to north west and on the other side of the River Taff is
the distinct district of Llandaf North.
Hwyl.
