Llanfihangel Pontymoile was the old Parish name where Pontymoile still is
but it is part of Pontypool area and now Torfaen.
Varteg is still there on the higher road between Blaenavon and Garndiffaith/
Abersychan.

Subject: [Bla'Gwent] The Varteg
Hello Listers,
I've recently received an 1873 Marriage Certificate which gives the Parish
as Llanuihangel Pontymoire in the County of Monmouth, and the groom's
address as The Varteg.
Can anyone inform me where the Parish is / was, and was The Varteg the
name
of a village?
The bride's address is given as This Parish.
