Hello Alison
Nice to hear from you. I am afraid I have very little information on the
Davies family of Tredegar, and I know that it is a popular name!
I really know very little more than I put in my request for information,
although when Lydia Davies married SimonTuck in 1860 in Tredegar, her
father, William Davies, was listed as a miner. I have only started
looking into this family and know nothing about Tredegar and the addresses.
Simon Tuck was the brother of my gt.grandfather and the family came from
Devon.
Your information is very interesting and I will print it off and put with my
notes. If I am able to make a connection I will get back to you
immediately.

Dear Judy,
I was interested to read about your Davies ancestors of Tredegar.
My great-great-grandfather, DAVID DAVIES, was born c1824 in Tredegar and
married ELIZABETH (nee MASON). According to their wedding certificate,
David's father was WILLIAM DAVIES, a Collier. My Davieses lived in Chapel
Street and then in Park Row, Tredegar, and I have been told that they were
an old Tredegar family. David Davies died in 1896 and THOMAS, his son, was
named on the letters of Administration. Sureties were JOHN DAVIES, The
Lion
Hotel, Tredegar and EDWIN DAVIES, Butcher, of Morgan street, Tredegar.
Is there any chance that we are researching the same family?
Best wishes,
Alison
