Hello David,
Nebo chapel, the second one, which was in Mount Pleasant Road around the
All Saints Catholic Church, was knocked down in 1970's or early 1980's.
The first Nebo, where your rellies were married, would have been on
Beaufort Road, adjoining close to where the Beaufort Arms is today.
That would have been pulled down in 1890's perhaps. The chapel was
around in the 1851 religious census so must have been built around
1830-1840's maybe?
Sorry to sound vague but will have to dig out "Nebo History" from our
Branch Library at Ebbw Vale and check definite dates.
Initially Nebo was a Welsh Baptist. Lot of upheaval with English
speaking members breaking away to other English Baptist, Bethcar, etc.
Changed to Welsh and English later.
best regards

Annwyl pawb
Does anyone know if Nebo Chapel, Ebbw Vale still stands and where it is/was
located, exactly?
It seems my great great grandparents Daniel ROWLANDS (c1830 to c1871) and
Ann THOMAS (c1830 to ?) from Bedwellty were married there on 5 February 1849
before moving eventually to Aberdare.
Hwyl
