Dear James,
I'm very interested in your name because my ancestors came out of Blina, Nantyglo,
Abbergavenny in the mid 1800's. I haven't been able to trace them back past 1800.
My GG Grandfather was George Henry Phillips born 22 Dec 1816 in Nantyglo, son of George
Phillips and Emma Davis (don't have any information on either of them). My GG
Grandmother was Jane Price Evans born 18 Aug 1822 in Monmouthshire daughter of James Evans
and Martha? Martha Jane? Price (don't know anything about them either). I don't
know if you connect to either of them or have any information that far back, but if you do
I'd be grateful if you'd be willing to share it with me.
Thank you very much!

Dear List,
I have recently acquired a copy of the will of my ancestor's second (and much
younger!) wife which has stirred up some interest in locating the living rather than the
dead! My 3xgreat-grandfather Charles DOBBS (c. 1843-1921) remarried in 1896 to a lady
named Eleanor PRICE (widow of William) and they went on to create a second family of three
daughters, namely Gladys Eleanor DOBBS, Alice Sybil DOBBS and Millicent May DOBBS, all
born in the decade following their marriage. Eleanor DOBBS late PRICE died in 1954 aged 92
and her will (made in 1946) reveals that Gladys Eleanor became a SMITH, Alice Sibyl became
a LACY and Millicent May bacame an OWENS. They and their half siblings lived at Wesley
Place in Beaufort, both Charles and Eleanor DOBBS lived and died at no. 8 although
Eleanor's will reveals that she owned nos. 10, 12 and 14 also. My side of the family,
from Charles DOBBS' first wife, did not get on with his new family due to
Eleanor's age (young enough to be his daughter!
!) so that very little information has come down to me. Charles left everything to Eleanor
when he died, effectively disinheriting his first family who got nothing under
Eleanor's will and no doubt fuelling the fire. If anyone has any information about
living descendants of the three daughters then I would be very pleased to receive the
news, it's quite possible that their children are still alive.
Best wishes
James Phillips-Evans
