Allowing for the "rounding" of ages and birthplace errors in the 1841

Hello I am trying to find information on my gt gt grandfathers
family,as far as I know he was one of five children born to John
and Mary Bates in Nantyglo in 1831.The other children were
Elizabeth,Mary Anne,Jane and William.I know John and William ended
up here in Blaenavon, but have'nt been able to find where their
parents or any of the other children went to.
On 1841 census they
were in Blaenant Aberstruyth
Mary Bates age 35 born not Mon
Elizabeth Bates age 15 born Mon
Mary Anne Bates age 8 born
Mon
Jane Bates age 6 born Mon
William Bates age 12 born Mon
John Bates age 10 born Mon
I know from Johns's marriage cert his fathers name
was John Bates occ, puddler,but not down as deceased, why was'nt
he
on this census.I have not been able to find John, Mary or any of
the daughters on later census, or any birth or marriage records.I
would be glad of any help and information, maybe they are in your
family ( hopefully ). Thanks Jim.
