Hi Sarah !
Yes I have an interest in the Davies name. It was my great grandmother
maiden name. Her name was Rebecca Davies, Born Ebbw Vale Wales. I have a
birth date but not here with me at work. 1840 something. She married
Jacob Sargent and moved on to Winterborne, England.
I will send more info when I go home from work

Hello Barrie,
It appears as though you were correct! I just
received my grandfathers birth certificate from GRO
(great service by the way, I ordered it online)
THOMAS IVOR CLIFFORD ROGERS was born on the 2nd
january 1899, parents THOMAS ROGERS, mother MARY
DAVIES, occupation Coal Weight, K. Obrien present at
the time of birth The Surgery Rhymney.
So now I have my great grandmothers name, I never knew
it and it seems as though they were not truly boarders
but family as well. I guess that means that I have
also found the names of my great great grandparents as
well, Might there by any on the list who are
interested in the name Davies (I believe that it is a
quite common name?) Cheers Sarah
Was it common at that time to have a baby out of the house?
