Hello Rob,
checked 1861 index and only Steeley families around Blaina. I have
original census for Aberystruth, but no index. If someone has reference
then I will check. If I come across the family then I will email you.
Best wishes

Would SKS please be able to look-up any reference to the name STEEL in
1851/
1861/ 1871 census return indexes for the town of Blaina. Part of my
Steel
family, including Thomas Steel and his wife, Jemima (nee Jarvis),
emigrated from
there, post 1871, to work for John Hughes in his iron and steel
enterprise at
Hughesovka, South Russia. Documents indicate that at least a couple
of
preceding generations came from Blaina.
Also, is anyone else following this line?
Many thanks
Rob
