I have contacted Blaenau Gwent Council in the past, but about the Brynmawr
Cemetery. While they have been very helpful and provided information by
email, I heard recently that they had started to charge £10 for this
service. (I don't know what they do if the enquiry is from overseas!) The
sexton was also most helpful in finding graves when we visited last year.

My family are buried at Brynithel. We have found the groundsman at
Brynithel to be very helpful if you are trying to locate a grave if you
know the
month and year of death. He took my mother and I to my grandfather's
plot (died
1928). He has a handwritten ledger of plots. I don't know what hours he
is
there, but 9 times out of 10 he seems to be around.
As you enter the cemetery there is a small parking area on the LHS at the
end of which is a brick hut where he is based and where the records are
stored.
