Hi Mick.
Yes I follow your enquiries all the time.
Re my William Henry I have been looking for a Handel up till now.. Denises
Davies from Pontypool traced Handel through his wife Elizabeth Chivers and
came up with William Henry, Marriage and 1881 census,
why he altered to Handel I don't know his descendents in Abertillery do not
know.
William Henry had a brother George my G/Father who arrived tin Sydney in
Jan1876 age 19.
and a sister Amelia or Emily.
I often wonder if there were other children as 3 were a small family those
days. His mother died about 1864.
I will keep looking for more siblings and will let you know if I find any
I will be visiting Palm Beach sth Qld next month my son Bruce teaches at St
Joseph Banora Point.
Regards
Les

Hi Les, have we spoken before?
I have my Elizabeth SMITH married to a Joseph LEWIS, they came out to
Australia in 1878 on board the Highflyer and settled around Maryborough,
QLD. Elizabeth was born in Pontypool, as was her brother. Elizabeth was
born 1854, Joseph 1852. They had ten children, two of which, Hannah and
William, were born in Pontypool, Sarah Ann born on the trip there, and the
rest, Mary, Rachel, Daniel or David, Joseph, Thomas, another Joseph and
Edward were all born in Maryborough.
I am wondering if your William Henry could have been Joseph's brother. I
know LEWIS is a 'rare' name in Wales, but what the heck ! If you don't
dig,
you can't show anything!
