Subject: [Bla'Gwent] PESTER from CWM .. ABERYSTRUTH
My PESTER family originate from Somerset and were Iron Miners in The
Brendon
Hills in the 1881 census.
Has anyone got access to the 1891 census to see where they were
living in
that year? If they were living in CWM, can anyone tell me which Mine he
would
be employed at?
Hi Peter,
I found your family in the 1891 census, as follows:
County: Monmouthshire
Civil parish: Aberystruth
Ecclesiastical parish: Christchurch
Urban Sanitary District: Ebbw Vale
Town: Waunlwyd?, Esccelsior St.?
James Pester, Head, M, 43, Pit Sinker? Coal, Somerset, Ecford
Elizabeth, Wife, M, 43, Somerset, Ecford
Emma P., Dau, 14, Scholar, Somerset, Ecford
Emily H., Dau, 12, Scholar, Somerset, Ecford
Lizzie, Dau, 7, Scholar, Monmouth, Aberystruth
Robert, Son, 3, Monmouth, Aberystruth
Thomas, Son, 3 months, Monmouth, Aberystruth
This is the only Pester family living in Monmouthshire from Exford in the
census. Hope this helps. Let me know if you'd like me to e-mail you the two
census pages showing James' family. Be happy to do it.
Cheers,
Jeff Thomas
