Dear Pam
I am thrilled that you are happy to do look ups - but I could have such a
lot!
Various threads of my family moved to Blaina and the general area during the
C19 from Radnor, Breckonshire, Hereford, Somerset and the Newport area.
PROBERT - I suppose I am interested in most people with this surname. Rees
PROBERT married Margaret LEWIS in Aberystruth on 18 Oct 1845. I have only
found 4 children for them - Sarah born approx. 1847, John b. 1854 Rebekah b.
1859 and Henry b. 1863, however if you can find their baptisms or the
baptisms for any other children of Rees and Margaret I should be very
pleased to have those.
Sarah PROBERT married Isaac LONG on 28 Oct 1865. If you can find the
baptism of any of their children I would love to sort out the mess I have
there. I have only found 8 children, but that includes some unlikely gaps
in the early years of their marriage and I am sure my info isn't exhaustive.
I have found Jane b. 1866, Mary b. 1870, George b. 1871, Isaac James b. 1876
(my gr grandfather), Edith b. 1879, Margaret Elizabeth b. 1883, Rees Henry
b. 1884.
I would also appreciate info about any LONGs bapt., married or buried in the
parish even up to 1944. I would love to know if my mother was bapt. She
was Dorothy LONG born in 1928 to Nellie (Ellen) and William Henry. They
were quite a prolific family.
I am sure that is more than enough to be going on with - and I will
understand if you think I am asking too much - because I think I am!
I look forward to hearing from you - one way or the other
best wishes
Anne Welch (née Christopher), Woking, Surrey, England
