I am in the happy position of owning a 1901 edition of Kelly's Trade
Directory for Monmouthshire, which I have scanned and uploaded for use by
all researchers, and it may help you with your enquiries.
I know this may not be the period that you are researching, but it might be
of interest to you.
To view the directory go to

Hope this helps!

Crikey, I only asked for help a couple of days ago! Thanks a lot
for
all
those good hearted souls who have taken the trouble to reply.
Bedwellty
and
Cwm are now much clearer in my mind. I have also managed to find
them on
the "Attica" Ordnance Survey CD. If you can get hold of a copy it's a
corker. I won mine as a magazine prize (yes, people really do win those
quizzes) and I have used it a great deal with my Gen. research.
Thanks again to the Monmouthshire experts, especially Walter, Glyn, Anne
and
Colleen.
Does Tredegar look after that area, they do Blaina where G/father was
supposed to come from?
Now we know we come from Monmouth:-
My Cousin is sad that we won't after all, be able to play rugby for Wales.
Mind you we are only in our seventies so perhaps it can wait a while!
