Hi Pam,
Again I thank you for the 1871 ISAAC lookup. It did confirm a few things
that were missing for me. My GGF Herbert (Thomas' son) was born in 1865, so
not yet listed on the 1861. Then on the 1881 he is already the head of house
at the age of 16 with his widowed mother living with him and his married
sister with her children at St. Johns, Llantrisant, GLA. At least I now
know where the family was for sure in 1871.
The son Thomas that I'm looking for should have been 27 years old in 1871.
There are several of the children that I have not been able to find birth
records for because the ages keep varying. Plus, some of the children were
from Thomas' first marriage to a woman named Ann. I have no information on
who she was either. My young Thomas is right on the line there. In 1860 he
was baptized at the age of 16, meaning he should have been born in 1844.
Thomas married his second wife in August of 1844. I'm assuming that young
Thomas was from the first marriage, but not sure. Aye, yi, yi!!
Sorry to ramble on! I think I'm just getting to the frustration point with
this group. I'm sure you can appreciate that.
Again, your help is once again greatly appreciated!

Hi Elsie
Again, I only have the Gwent FHS index for Rhymney 1871, but it will help
you find the
page/folio when you eventually get your film:
RG10/5329 30/20
Uchlawrcoed (Rhymney)
ISAAC, Thomas, 62
Mary, 48
Martha, 11
Jemima, 14
Herbert Lloyd, 6
There were two more Thomas ISAAC listed, but I don't know the age of his
son, so you
will have to work out which one belongs to Thomas Snr.
RG10/5322 74 04
Uchlawrcoed (Tredegar)
ISAAC, Thomas, 31
Rachel, 2
Ann, 32
Lewis, 5
There is also a Benjamin aged 6 at 5322 74 03 who may be another relative.
RG10/5323 12/18 Uchlawrcoed (New Tredegar)
ISAAC, Thomas, 12
Taliesin, 16
William, 8
Ann, 18
There are more ISAAC entries on the following page: RG10/5323 13/18 which
may belong
to this last family
I hope this helps you find the full entries in the film.
Cheers
Pam
Hello Pam,
Do you have the 1871 census for Monmouth, or just the index to it?
I have been trying desperately to get a lookup for my GG GF Thomas
ISAAC, wife Mary, and a bunch of kids living either in or around
Rhymney. You were so kind to give me information from the 1861 index,
but I still don't know if all the kids belong to them or other ISAAC
families around them. There were no relationships listed, just ages.
(I had ordered the 1871 from the LDS, but they ordered Runmey instead
of Rhymney and had to reorder. It took 6 weeks to get the first one!)
Thomas ISAAC died on Feb. 28, 1875 at 9 Tre Evans, Rhymney. His son
Thomas was in attendance.
I would appreciate any help you're willing to give!
Thanks!
