Dear all,
I expect I shall be 'Flamed' for apparently Spamming. I hope not
when you see what is in mind.
A group of us are determined that our government should not let the PRO get
away with the dreadful mess they have made of our 1901 census on-line
exercise.
The website mentioned below is for others with like minds to follow this
thread
and maybe hammer the message home.
What I and the group would ask of you and other contacts is that you
publicise the
URL of this web site to every listowner of our 'lists' and hope to get much
support.
Please try to help if you can. Losers are to be found all over the world.
The site is only a few hours old and already there are dozens of
petitioners.
Please support this. I know that some of you will already have heard of the
petition, if so my apologies for the "Scatter gun" approach.
Many of you are friends through our shared pastime, others may wonder who
this lunatic is. Well, he's an elderly gent trying to pursue his hobby in
peace with as little obstruction as possible and I'm not 'appy!

Hi Geoff
Thanks for your response regarding a 1901 e-petition. A website has now been
set-up on:
www.activeservice.co.uk/petition
Although an e-petition requires a full address, the website has been
arranged so that addresses should not viewable on the site. Once enough
signatures have been obtained the e-petition will be sent to the UK
Government and the addresses will be viewable to them. Please let others
know about the petition and website address in order to gain as much support
as possible. In addition, I understand e-mails can be sent to:
Editor(a)ukonline.gov.uk which should be passed to the relevant department.
Many thanks in advance for your support - lets hope we can provoke some
positive and meaningful response..........and action!
Regards
Linda Jones
