Hi Novella!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I've checked the 1851
Breconshire Census (I don't have any other Census records available at
home - yet!), and there are plenty of Thomas PRICEs (altogether, 270 of
various ages & places of birth) for you to choose from. Of those that gave
Talgarth as their place of birth, the closest Thomas PRICE in age is:

Is Talgarth definitely Thomas J PRICE's place of birth, or might he be from
somewhere nearby?
What records do you have of him, and what is the range of years around 1841
that you have for his birth?
If he was definitely born in 1841, then he ought to appear on the 1851
Census as a 9 or 10 year old, of which there are 15, none giving Talgarth as
a place of birth.
Was his son, David J PRICE, born around 1855, or 1865, putting him closer in
age to the other kids?
There is a David PRICE, who would have been born around 1855 in the Rassau,
Llangynidr, on the 1881 Census, living in Beaufort with wife Elizabeth, and
kids William Rees (c.1875/6), Watkin J (c.1877/8, and Mary E (1881). I
don't have access to the 1881 Census, but was sent the information about
David along with stuff about a few other PRICEs in the area on the 1881
Census.
I'm not sure if this David is a brother to my gt-gt-grandfather John PRICE,
which would make his parents William PRICE (1825, Bedwellty) & Mary
(c.1826/7, Bedwellty). Apart from John, and possibly David, William &
Mary's children included Sarah A PRICE (c.1862/3) and Jane PRICE (c.1867/8).
That William is the son of Thomas PRICE & Mary GRIFFITH (married 21 May,
1821, Bedwellty Parish), whose other kids included Lewis PRICE (c.1822,
Bedwellty Parish) and Jane PRICE (c.1823, Bedwellty Parish).
Oops, I'm wandering off-subject again! I don't yet know if the David PRICE
(c.1855, Rassau) on the 1881 Census does belong to my family - if your David
PRICE is born 1855, 12 years ahead of the next child, Margaret, then he
could be one of yours.
As to whether the different PRICE families of southern Breconshire are
related - who knows? If anyone does, I'd love to hear from you! This seems
to be an area that would take a good few years of research, and could be
something to work on when there's nothing happening on the immediate family
front.
Anyway, I hope the records from the 1851 Brecknock Census help you in your
research, (that first one does look quite promising) and if you need
anything else from that Census, let me know.
x Kate.

Hello,
I am also seeking Price family member's from that area. I am not as far back
yet as you both are though. I am stuck on Thomas J Price, born about 1841,
in
Talgarth, Breconshire. His children were: David J. abt1855, Margret J.
abt1867, Lewis John abt1870, Samuel abt 1876, Sarah abt 1879, and James
Mendel abt 1881. The children were born in the Rhymney, Gellgaer, and
Bargoed
area. Do you think there might be a tie with yours?
Sincerely,
