My ggrandmothers father was a Wine Merchant in 1860 and his name was DAVID
OWENS. My ggrandmother RACHAEL OWENS married WILLIAM JONES in Llanhileth
in 1860. In 1903 my ggrandmother visited her brother, JOHN OWENS, in Ebbw
Vale. Does anyone have any connection to any of these OWENS'?

Subject: [Bla'Gwent] Education in Tredegar, 1851
Thomas CAREY or CARREY, a labourer in Tredegar in 1841, gives his
occupation
in 1851, also in Tredegar, as an arithmetic teacher.
Does anyone have knowledge of the state of education in Tredegar at that
time, what schools were established, and what records exist?
