Hello Mick,
Not too sure about that. I know I was checking on Merthyr Express about
Welsh emigration to Patagonia in 1865 and could not see anything about
any form of emigration, Patagonia included.
The West Monmouthshire version of the Merthyr Express included Rhymney,
Tredegar, Ebbw Vale, Cwm, Blaina and Nantyglo and even Brynmawr. There
may have been details of 'goodbye to Thomas Morgan and his family who
are leaving Blaina for new life in Australia' for example. What dates
are you talking about?
Merthyr library have these editions from 1864-present. Tredegar is
1892-1950, is that too late?
Have not had a chance to check any of the other papers as yet so I can't
really comment. Not sure if Janet Karn, the librarian would either, but
if you give me a time period I could check next week.
best regards

Hi Barrie, these newspapers, would any one of them contain news of
pending
emmigration to Australia? Or would we have to check details ourselves?
Would love to find some details of my SMITHs leaving Ebbw Vale to go out to
Oz.
