Dear Listers,
This week's 'Retrospective Images of Wales' webpages, just uploaded onto my
website, feature:
1. The Coal Washery near Onllwyn in the county of Glamorgan (one pictures).
This was one of the first features shown on 'Images of Wales' in November
1997.
2. The limestone quarry (now closed) at Penwyllt in the county of
Breconshire (eleven pictures). This feature, first shown on 'Images of
Wales' in October 1998, was originally introduced thus:
---------------
In today's 'Images of Wales' we explore the quarry itself, and the remains
of the railway line which once passed through this isolated community. And
we explain the unlikely connection between Penwyllt and a 19th century
Spanish opera singer!!
---------------
As usual, these webpages will be on display for one week.
'Retrospective Images of Wales' is at

Kind regards,
John
