Reading back though my emails, came through yours. There was a Britannia Inn
in Brynmawr in King Street, opposite King Edward Row, not far from
intersection between Alma Street and King Street. I may have replied to you
already, cannot remember, but I got a copy of pubs in Brynmawr 1848 from the
library: population 6000, no fewer than 82 public houses. Our ancestor was
landlord of the Victoria Inn in Boundary Street (inn does not exist any
more).

Subject: [BLAENAUGWENT] Britannia Row, Beaufort area
Dear List,
I have come across a reference to a street called Britannia Row in some old
family papers that I have recently acquired but despite asking the older
members of my family who are Beaufort born-and-bred none of them can recall
such a place. The people mentioned in connection with the street are not
known to have ever lived outside Beaufort so the Britannia Row in question
should be somewhere in that vicinity and probably no further than Brynmawr
or Ebbw Vale - were there any pubs in the Beaufort area called "The
Britannia Inn"?
Best wishes
James Phillips-Evans
