I am going to jump into this with probably nothing that will help anyone
researching BEVAN. BUT - in my husband's grandmother's trip diary from 1937
for a trip to back to Wales, she talks about Aunt Mary Jane Bevan - who was
married I think, but do not know for sure - to John Bevan. She was either
in Nantyglo or Brynmawr. I think, but do know know for sure that this is
the sister of David Price (aunt Mary Jane) and I believe she was the person
who put up this memorial at Carmel Chapel in Beaufort:
Rev. Thomas Rees DD Pastor of Carmel Church, Beaufort, June 1849 - April
1862 Presented by Mrs. S. D. Bevan.
I may have jumped to a conclusion when I thought Mary Jane's husband was
"Uncle Johnny" from the diary. As the above would indicate it was not John.
But she is mentioned several times in the diary, and I think that at
sometime, his grandmother told me that she was David Price's sister. (My
husband's gr grandmother was Elizabeth Jane Price sister of Mary Jane and
also David)
If any of this ever ties into anything you find, please let me know.
Probably just more confusion :)
Anne

Hello to all from America. Recent events have me thinking of
family and I need some help tracking my grandfather's side.
Looking for place of birth for :
Cyril Bevan born 25 May 1911, in or near Abertillery, Wales
and traveled to America by ship around 1924-1926. Looking for
name of ship. I do not know port of entry into U.S. but he
settled in Pennsylvania.
Also looking for informatin about his wife
Ruth Bevan born Ruth Ruck , 11 Mar 1919 , somewhere in England I believe.
Any help is appreciated.
