Subject: [BlaenauGwent] Looking for Price, Evans family members
My Grandfather was Arthur Price, (a coal miner) was born December 12,
1904.
He was one of 11 children. He was living at 51 School Street, New
Tredegar
at
the time of his birth. His Father, my Great Grandfather was Lewis
Jhon
(John)
Price, a coal miner (collier), (born 1870). He was the son of Thomas
James
Price(c.1840), I do not know his mother's name. Lewis was born in
Elliot's
Town, and may of had a brother David James Price (<~~Stood up for him at
his
wedding in 1894).
His wife whom he married at the Bedwellty Parish on May 13th, 1894, was
Mary
Hannah Evans, listed as a spinster on their marriage certificate. She
was
the
daughter of Mary Bowcott (could be Boycott) and William Evans, and
was
born
in 1874 in Elliot's Town. William Evans died at his home,
Diiffryn Terr,
New
Tredegar on November 30th, 1916, at age 66. He was interred at
Bedwellty
Church December 4th, 1916. Mary Hannah listed as her witness in marriage
Jenkins Evans. I know that she had two brothers, Jenkins may of been a
brother.
I think that most of my family may have been Baptished, Married,
Registered
for Census, Paid taxes, and died through the recordings of the
Bedwellty
Parish register district. My Grandfather Arthur Price Married My
Grandmother
Sybil Weeks, living before wed at 7 Mc Laren Cottages, Abertysswg on
October
4, 1926 at the Register Office of Bedwellty. Sybil's parent's
were
Catherine
Ada Morgan (July 31, 1888), Daughter of Margaret Thomas and David
Morgan
and
Joseph Henry Weeks, Son of Caroline and Joseph Weeks.
Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
