Hi Geoff, I have checked the BVRI Vol 2 and the only birth/christening
record in there is the following:-
The marriages only come to 1837!

I was hoping to get down to Cwmbran this month to do some backwards
looking
for my George Williams of Bedwellty.
Not that I'm complaining but I now have a date for my surgery which
hopefully will allow me to walk properly again. Oh happy day!!!
That puts me off my feet for up to 12 weeks from October 10th.
I could probably do some of it on line if I knew where to start. Once I'm
home I'll be OK. "Have stairlift, will travel upstairs!"
So any guidance for, say parish records of Bedwellty prior to 1861.
All I have is that my Grandfather, Thomas Williams was born there in 1861
and his father was George Williams, described as a 'Gasman'
Mind, I suppose it's not all that desperate as I've been trying for 8
years and it won't hurt to wait till next spring but if anyone has any
thoughts and can steer me, I'd be grateful.
Any costs can be dealt with.
Regards,
Geoff
