Further to Jon's reply - yes it is Garn Vach or Garn Fach, part of modern day
Nantyglo.

Hello list. I think I just found my great-great grandparents, John and
Mary (EDWARDS) CHARLES in the 1851 Wales census. They are living in the
parish of Aberystruth in Monmouthshire. In the column titled "Name of
Street, Place, or Road, and Name or No. of House" it appears to say
Gamnach or Gamvach. Does anybody know what this means? There is no city
or borough, town or village named. Thanks.
