Looking through the births for Williams mothers maiden name Williams will be
a pointless exercise, not because the surname is so common, but because of
the amount of illegitimate births you are going to find.
The only way to find out who the other 8 children is to search the local
school records, you need to cross reference school attendance records if
they exist with electoral registers. If you need any research done, I am on
the Gwent records office list of researchers if you need any assistance.
School attendance records list the childs birth date, date they first
started school and their legal gaurdian, also their address and the date
they left the school and reason for leaving. I find school records more
realiable sometimes than trying to find their baptisms.

I understand your frustration as I am in the US and trying to do
something
similar, but I have been going to the LDS Family History Center. They
have
records--microfilm, etc. from just about everywhere. You can order it at
the Family History Center and it takes a few weeks to get it and then you
can use it for three weeks and extend it etc., and basically use it for as
long as you need it. (You have to pay for the extension and the original,
but the fees are nominal) I'm sure there's a Family History Center in your
area. I would suggest you go online at
www.familysearch.org and check it
out. They have the largest database in the world for family history. You
can also check out the site and browse through it and will be able to find
out the areas that you're looking for and what the film nos. are. Then you
can find a family history center in your area.
I hope this helps you in your quest.
My ancestors are also from the Nantyglo area.
Good Luck,
Cynthia Lovell

Hi Michael
I've tried everything i can that is online. As i am in Australia it is
hard
as i can't actually look at the records.
The fact the both parents were WILLIAMS prior to the marriage makes it
difficult

Hi Barb, have you tried the Parish Registers from the parish of the
children's birth?
