Hi Jon,
I have a slight connection to the Cookseys of Nantyglo, my great-great-uncle John (Jack)
Dyer married a Mary Cooksey who was born c. 1886. As far as I recall the Cooksey family
owned a shop in Nantyglo - are these your Cookseys? I can let you know what little
information I have gleaned.
Best wishes
Jane Dyer.

Hi everyone,
I just want to say hi as I'm new to the list, and take a few moments to
mention my surname interest:
Cooksey: from the Nantyglo and Abertillery areas
I would dearly love to hear from anyone who has info on, or who are related
to the Cooksey family. My grandmother was Esther Annie Cooksey, b. July 9,
1901 at Blaenavon. Her mother was Annie Powell who was from the Bedwellty
area according to the 1881 Census. Her father, George, remarried 7 years
after the death of his first wife Annie, to Sarah Matilda Hillier, and
through that there are links to the boycott family.
Very best wishes to all,
Jon
