Message to Iris Tamburri and Jon Nixey,
I think people have been confusing Llanelly Church with Llanelly Hill -
Llanelly Hill is as far as I am aware on one side of Clydach Gorge, and
the Church is the other side - please would someone help out here with the
geography!!
Jane Dyer.

Hi Jon
Thank you so much. I know exactly where to go now. We went up the hill and
over the cattle grids last visit. I shall certainly go look for the church
on my next visit, and thanks for the info on where to eat - we are always
glad of new places, especially if they are recommended.
Best regards
Iris

Hi iris,
I'm sorry I don't know exactly where it is, all I know is that Llanelli
Hill
is on the old mountain road leading from Blaenavon and heading down
towards
the Abergavenny area, possibly Govilon? I don't know that area at all
well,
even though some of my father's ancestors lived there about 120 + years
ago
it appears. I have travelled through there (I believe?) but being blind I
wasn't totally aware of the route taken. I do know we headed from Brynmawr
towards Blaenavon, over 2 cattle grids, and at some point very very
shortly
after the 2nd cattle grid there is a turning to the left, which if I
recall
correctly has a signpost for Llanelli hill? Sorry I can't be of more help
but I'm sure there are ones on this list who can give you far more
accurate
directions.
Hope you enjoy your visit to Wales, whenever that may be, and try and call
in to the Jolly Collier which is close by Llanelli Hill for a meal, just
tell them Jon with the guide dog recommended them.
very best wishes
Jon
