You are of course refering the Holy Trinity which you are right it has been
demolished for some time. For a while, I believe the area was a council
depot and is currently being refurbed as small business units I think.
I'll ask my Dad who's on the scence. An aunt or mine was married there I
could find out some dates if you give me some time.
Hope this helps

here is his reply:
'Regarding the query by Mal.It seems the building is undoubtedly
Nantyglo
church(Church in Wales) which was tucked under the railway embankment and
next to the Dunlop Semtex factory on the left hand side of the road as you
entered Brynmawr from the Nantyglo end.It was right on the old boundary
between Nantyglo and Brynmawr and of course the old boundary between
Monmouthshire and Breconshire.I am pretty certain it was shutdown years ago
and is now probably demolished. I can't remember the name of the church.
Mind you I don't know my east and west from my north and south but the only
two other churches in the vicinity of the railway embankment must be the
Roman Catholic Church on the road out of town towards Blaenavon and, of
course, the Methodist Church at which you went to Sunday School, at the
start of Warwick Road. I think I will plump for the Nantyglo Church.'
How accurate this is I can't say; the chapel I went to was Bailey Street
Congregational, not Methodist.

> Back when the train came up the valley to
Brynmawr there was a railway embankment running across the southern entrance
to the square which served some coal mines located east of the town. The
result was that to go to Brunmawr from Nantyglo it was necessary to go under
the bridge which carried the railway. Travelling north to Brynmawr and just
before the embankment

I am interested in a marriage that was held there about 1925 (+or- 3 years).
