The census as you probably know is a national
count and collection of information of a countries
population.
An index is usually an easy to find way of searching
for someone. The 1881 census is an example of the
above two points. The indexing is usually done by
individuals or organisations and in the case of the 1901
census by her majesties guests and I am not looking
forward to using it, paricurlarly as it as been privatised.

the two. What does a census have that an index doesn't have and vice versa?
