Not to quibble, but David Lloyd is rather the Anglo form of Dafydd Llwyd.
Tom
sie,
That's a good price. It's a substantial book. By the way, I assume you
realised that Dafydd Llwyd is simply the Welsh form of David Lloyd.

Hello Again Paul,
I was able to order this book from Barnes and Noble for 4.4 GBPs, so I did so. Since
many in my early family were Baptists, I decided it was a worthwhile purchase.
Thank you again for your prompt reply to my query, and also for the title and author
of the book.

Elsie,
I have on my shelves TM Bassett's "The Welsh Baptists" published by
Ilston House in 1977. It contains a number of incidental references to Dafydd Llwyd Isaac.
Most notably, they refer to his association with schisms in the church in Monmouthshire,
his support for the use of the Welsh language in schools and his eventual defection to the
Anglican Church.
If you cannot access a copy but would like to see the references, I suppose the best
way would be for me to send you photocopies of the relevant pages.

Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since I've posted anything to the list, but I have just
recently come across some new information that I'd like to track down.
I came across a birth announcement in "The Cambrian" as follows:
BIRTHS Friday, September 04, 1846 A SON TO THE WIFE OF REV.D.LL.ISAAC, PONTYPOOL
My 2X GGF, Thomas ISAAC, Mason had a brother, Rev. David Lloyd Isaac who was at
the Trosnant Baptist Church in Pontypool in 1841. David Lloyd married Jemima Thomas in
1842 in Neath. As far as I know, this couple had no children.
I have checked Free BMD and 1837 Online, and there aren't any male ISAACs
registered in Pontypool in the SEPT or DEC quarters of 1846.
Does anyone have access to any other records that might help?
I would appreciate any help offered.

Hi Paul,
Yes, I am aware that Dafydd Llwyd is David Lloyd. I already received notice that my
book has shipped and should arrive in the next 2 days. I'm quite excited. There may be
more information I can get from it since part of my family was from the Aberduar Baptist
Chapel in Llanybydder, CMN.
I still need to confirm the birth of a son as I initially posted since I couldn't
find anything in the birth registrations for Pontypool.
Rev. David Lloyd ISAAC's wife was Jemima (nee Thomas). She is listed as being from
Eastgate, Neath. I'm wondering if she may have gone home to Neath to have the baby.
There is a birth in SEPT. 1846 in Neath for a David ISAAC.
Does anyone have any clues where I could find records for Trosnant Baptist Church,
Pontypool in 1846 other than traveling to Wales myself? If not, it may just have to wait
until I make the trip next May.

Hi Elsie
Just a quick aside - my g.g. grandparents were married in Zion Baptist
Chapel, Trosnant in 1877.
It took me a while to locate it - it is now a Masonic Lodge and somewhat
chopped about - although the basic fabric of the building is in reasonable
order.
I have some recent pictures if they're of any interest?
