Alwyn, there may well be a report of the inquest in the archives of a local
paper for the area in which your ancestor lived. I found such an item for my
maternal grandmother who was living in Nottinghamshire at the time. It was
far more interesting that the plain inquest report would have been.

a coal mine'. The date of the inquest by the deputy coroner for
Monmouthshire was given. Do the records of these inquests exist? Where can
