Hi Alwyn, some inquests do exist, if you are lucky.
Also, there is a miner disaster websitethat lists almost all the disasters
in the mining world, sadly I can't remember the site address, but I am sure
Gogle may help.

Subject: [BLAENAUGWENT] Inquests
I have an 1861 death certificate showing cause as 'an accident
received in
a coal mine'. The date of the inquest by the deputy coroner for
Monmouthshire was given. Do the records of these inquests exist? Where can
they be found?
Thanks in advance
Alwyn James
