There must be a problem, because the
Ancestry.com 1861
census gives 551 matches for Thomas JONES in
Monmouthshire; 284 for James. What a disappointment
for those using the 1837online service - perhaps
they've got a database or transcription problem?

I, too, am interested in the answer to your
question, Christine. I put in my gguncle's name of
THOMAS JONES for Monmouthshire and it came up there
was nothing found with that name and so I tried his
brother's name of JAMES JONES and got the same
thing, No JAMES or THOMAS JONES in the 1861 Census
for Monmouthshire. Doesn't that sound just a bit
odd?
