We have contacted Caerphilly Borough Council who have a searchable database of burials and
have been told they hold no record of the person we are trying to trace.
Charles Martin PRICE, a railway platelayer, of Pentre Cottage, Govilon, Llanwenarth Ultra,
died on 25th December 1915 age 62. As there is no record of him in any municipal
cemeteries he must have been buried in one of the local parish churchyards. The death
certificate tells us he died at home so he can’t have been taken very far, especially as
his death was in the middle of the winter.
I would like to know if there are any online searchable parish burial records for this
area as I cannot get to the records office in person.
His wife, Sarah Ann PRICE (b. PARRY), may have been buried in Llanfoist in 1943 age 83. I
seem to recall a conversation some years ago when this was mentioned but apparently
Charles Martin was not buried with her.
Thank you
Diane
