Hello there Adina, WOW !
My William SMITH was born in Pontypool in 1852, the son of a William SMITH
with an approximate dob of 1813! It is a possiblility !
William senior did have a daughter Elizabeth born around 1854 and indeed
married a LEWIS, however, my Elizabeth married a Joseph LEWIS in 1873 in
Pontypool and went on board the Highflyer to Queensland Australia!
My William SMITH senior possibly married a Sarah POWELL or a Sarah DAVI(E)S.
It is a possibility of a connection, but trying to work out a connection
with Iowa!
Would be nice though !
Regards, Michael
